Bath and Body Works Holiday Candles Review

Thursday, December 1, 2016

I have a serious candle problem. I. Want. Them. All. And this Black Friday My mom and I took full advantage of the buy three get three free deal at Bath and Body Works. I wanted to tell you my thoughts on my favorite holiday scents as well as new ones that I am loving! I highly suggest subscribing to Bath and Body Works' email list because they have some sort of deal almost daily or will send out a coupon! Today their Wallflowers are only $3.50 so that is a great opportunity to stock up on some refills or stocking stuffers. I just got the Teakwood Mahogany and my bathroom smells amazing. Also today, get 20% off your order with the code SLEIGHBELL. These candles make great gifts for anyone since they have so many different scents. Some of these are no longer online but can be found in stores still!

Holly Berry Balsam- I was set on getting the Fresh Balsam because it smells just like a Christmas tree and actually found Holly Berry Balsam during checkout and switched them out. The Holly Berry Balsam smells like Christmas tree but mixed with a sweet fragrance. It is so yummy, I could not stop sniffing it!

Flannel- Flannel has been out since fall but I think this is a great candle for year round. It is definitely more of a cologne type smell and I was unsure how I felt about it just by smelling the candle. Once I burned it though I really liked it!

Winter-The best way I can describe this one is if you combined Fresh Balsam and Fresh Sparkling Snow. This candle is hard to categorize but it definitely smells like winter, as the label says! And how cute is the packaging on this one?

Marshmallow Fireside- One of my classic favorites! If you love the smell of a  bonfire this is your new favorite candle. It has the perfect balance of smokey and sweet. I espeically love this candle since I am used to having a fireplace back at my parent's house.

Hot Cocoa & Cream- I honestly thought this one was overly sweet and awful when I smelled  the candle, but after burning it I love it. It literally smells like a freshly made cup of hot chocolate and I think I need to go buy some Swiss Miss and mini marshmallows now.

Champagne Toast- My friends just introduced me to Champagne Toast. They kept raving about how amazing it smells so I knew I had to get it. This candle smells exactly like a Mimosa! I don't really think it is a fall or winter scent, but it is absolutely a keeper. This is good for those who like sweet but fresh scents.

Not Pictured:
Mahogany Teakwood- This is another new scent for me that I immediately loved. I also purchased a wallflower refill in this scent. It is a masculine, heavy smell, but soooo good.

Sparkling Woods- If you like Mahogany Teakwood but it is a little too overpowering for you, Sparkling Woods would be perfect. It is similar but on the sweeter side.

Frosted Cranberry- This candle is for sweet scent lovers. This is the perfect candle for your kitchen and is absolutely mouthwatering.

Fresh Sparkling Snow- I don't have this candle but I do have the creamy body wash. I didn't pick up the candle because it just didn't seem to be very strong to me, but now I really want to try burning it or getting it in a wallflower because the body wash smells SO good. If you are a fan of Dove's body washes I highly recommend B&BW's new creamy body wash in this scent. It is the same consistency as Dove but the pretty smell stays on my skin so much longer.

That's all for now! What are your favorite holiday candles or fragrances from Bath and Body Works? What other brand candles do you love? Don't forget to subscribe and thanks for reading!

100 Shows & Movies To Binge This Christmas

Tuesday, November 29, 2016

I don't know about you, but as soon as Thanksgiving ends it is basically Christmas 1st and all the decor comes out. Last night I cleaned house, set up my mini tree (thanks grandma Sharon!) and decorations, and blared the Apple Music Christmas Essentials playlist. I also swapped all my Bath and Body Works candles for the holiday scents and lit one in every room, including my new favorite, but we will save that for another post! One of my favorite things to do around the holidays is watch old Christmas cartoons and holiday movies. This year I don't have cable. I figure why pay for it when I watch everything on Netflix or HBO, but that means missing all the Christmas shows aired. Luckily, almost all of these can be streamed or found on YouTube! You may notice some of the cartoons listed are VERY old. When I was little I had a VHS taped with all the Christmas specials that came on TV. It had classics like Rudolph and Frosty but it also had some lesser known cartoons. Jack Frost, Christmas Comes But Once A Year, The Night Before Christmas, and Santa's Workshop. I used to re-watch all of these over and over. The quality is absolutely awful compared to today's cartoons, but the stories and songs are nostalgic. (These are the ones you can find a in full length on YouTube or on DVD on Amazon) I hope you guys enjoy and maybe find a new movie you love! I'm sure you will see some of your favorites listed as well!

Bath and Body Works Cream Body Wash

Wednesday, November 23, 2016

Growing up I was almost always staying at my friend Brittney's house on Fridays after cheering at football games and I remember her shower being stocked with a new B&BW shower gel every time. At my house we usually had something simple like Suave so I would be so excited to try the new fragrances she had. I think I have however, gotten B&BW works gift sets every Christmas for as long as I can remember (what girl hasn't honestly) and the sets would include a lotion, body mist, and shower gel. If I had my say, I would bring back the Art's Stuff collection from the 90s. Glitter shower gel, the body mist with the little squishy circles in it, foaming body wash, ROLL ON BODY glitter. And let's not forget Cucumber Melon! Who remembers these?? I even had my membership card, which I guarantee is somewhere at my mom's house still (I have hoarding issues) Give me all the roll on glitter back! Now days I still love and use B&BW products, but their candles are by far my absolute favorite! However, I am so excited for two new releases. Whipped Shimmer Body Mousse and Creamy Body Wash.

The Whipped Body Mousse brings that nostalgic feeling from the old foam body wash. I tried a sample in the store and it feels amazing, but have not purchased it yet. I did purchase the Creamy Body wash in the fragrance Fresh Sparkling Snow. I used it last night and I love it so far! It's a creamy wash with a great lather and left my skin feeling soft and clean. And I LOVE the Fresh Sparkling Snow scent so I may have to try it in other products. Other holiday scents I found I love are Champagne Toast, Sparkling Wood (which for some reason is not online), Mahogany Teakwood, Flannel, and Marshmallow Fireside. For winter I prefer woodsy and strong scents over the super sweet vanillas. I would definitely recommend these new products if you are looking for stocking stuffers or a gift for a coworker. :) I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving! Thank you for taking the time to read.

Holiday Gift Guide For Him

Monday, November 14, 2016

I love to start Christmas shopping early, not only to get everything out of the way so that I don't stress the days before, but also to lessen the financial blow. Gifting to the women in my life has always been easy. I know their interests and I know if I would love something, they probably will too! However, gifting to the men in my life is never quite as easy! Will they think this is cool too or silly? Is this something they need or would want? What about the color? I decided to make a gift guide for him to hopefully help you brainstorm for any type of man in your life. Boyfriend, husband, dad, brother, or grandparent, I tried to find ideas for all walks of life.

For The Traveler:

I am a big fan of Jon Hart luggage. It is pricier, but so sturdy and long lasting. It makes a great gift as most people would not spend that amount on themselves. There are so many different types and size pieces for anything you could want. Everything comes in several colors and  you can personalize each piece with their name or initials. I have a duffel, backpack, and makeup case that I received as Christmas gifts and they have been the most useful gifts! Jon Hart makes great gift options for both men and women.
Jon Hart Dopp Kit
Jon Hart Two-Suiter Garment Bag
Jon Hart Boot Bag
Jon Hart Medium Square Duffel

For The Foodie:

Another great idea: a wine club subscription!
Stuffed Hamburger Press
Whiskey Rocks
Spiegelau Beer Tasting Set
Stainless-Steel Sliding Skewers
A Wok
Knives

For The Outdoorsman:

Yeti Hopper 20
Yeti Camo Cooler Cushion
Jon Hart Rifle Cover
Jon Hart Bird Bag

For The Sports Lover:

Tickets to a game
Gear For His Favorite Team
A Dipped Yeti of His Favorite Team
Golf course gift card
Nike Cart Bag
Personalized Golf Balls

For The Professional:

Daniel Wellington Leather Watch
Barrington Gift's Money Clip
Mini Hand Steamer
Button ups or accessories
Ties and Pocket Squares

I hope that some of these ideas help you spoil your favorite men! A Gift Guide for Her is soon to come so check back in a couple days or just subscribe in the sidebar and you will get an email of every new post!
